Injured Ent of Salem Commons
If you hang out at the Salem Commons you may occasionally see me hugging this ancient Ent tree whenever i am walking by. This tree is HUGE! You cannot capture how magnificent it is in a photo. Sort of like the Grand Canyon photos that everyone tries to take! I am not sure how old this being is, at least 100 years? Who knows what he has seen. (I know trees do not have gender but i feel as if there is a more yang feel to him.)
We had a wild wind storm over the weekend. Yesterday as i was walking towards the Salem Commons i noticed yellow crime scene tape blocking the entrance and around the tree. Of course everyone ducked under it and paid no heed to it. My dear friend lost a major branch.
I gathered a few pieces of bark and broken branches so i could place on my earth altar in honor of him. Around 5:00 pm my husband and i returned to gather more branches so i could make wands and spirit dolls. This tree has powerful energy and i would love to have a wand with his magic. I do hope the city of Salem does not cut the entire tree down. I will have to be one of those crazy people who chain themselves to the tree to save it!
This was taken Halloween night 2018. I am sure this tree has several elementals tending to him!

Josie O'Fae spotted at the Salem Commons...
Josie O'Fae was spotted on Halloween evening at the Salem Commons. It is rumored this is her favorite tree and can be seen hugging it every time she strolls through the Commons.

Wicked Stroll through the Salem Commons
This photo was taken in the Salem Commons, the last Halloween we were here in 2010 before moving to Muggleville VA in 2011.
Our pup Quan Yin Kali Wu was only one at the time. Precious memories. So happy to be back in the Witch City where nobody blinks an eye if you are in costume or donning a witch hat!
The Salem Commons is one of the most gorgeous parks to walk through. Lots of benches, trees and squirrels. During snow season it becomes a winter wonderland. A lovely place to stroll and people watch.

Haunted Happenings Parade!
I was not able to take great photos of the Haunted Happenings Parade last evening. However, The Salem News has a great video of the event. Best float ever was the giant Bette Midler Hocus Pocus float by the National Parks Service.

Hocus Pocus was the theme of this year's parade. The movie was filmed in Salem MA. http://www.salem.org/hocus-pocus-filming-locations-salem-ma/
It was so good to be back in Salem to see the parade after being gone 7 long muggle filled years. This parade was one of the best ever. However, it should be mandatory that all who participate in it must wear costumes!!!!

Park Bench Art
While walking our pup Quan Yin through the Salem Commons we came upon this lovely decorated park bench. It appears that faeries must have dressed it in flowers and ribbons. You never know what you will encounter in the Salem Commons. Loving being back in the Witch City!
